The owner contacted me through Indeed. We had a somewhat strange interview - she talked a lot about how people enjoy working for her because she makes them W2 employees and provides health insurance benefits, but she was extremely put off when I said that I couldn't take anything less than a lateral move salary wise but I'd like to make a step up, and I'm only making ~$55k right now. She was like "the most we've ever given to a new hire with significant experience is $58k." Mmkay. She talked about next steps and meeting with another RD, and I agreed but was pretty sure I'd just cancel because under $60k for a full time outpatient dietitian is insane. If that's something that interests you though, the interview was super easy. You just have to nod along and be impressed as the owner talks about herself. It's not a very HAES friendly position though from what I've gathered. I practice from a very weight neutral standpoint and she was a little argumentative about my approach. I'm not in a position where I need her low paying job, so I was pretty clear about how I practice as a dietitian and it just turns out we aren't a good fit. If you really want the job though just nod along as she talks about herself and her practice, and be willing to accept pay that is lower than what you could get working in a non-profit or government facility.
