Company introduced through a recruitment agency. The role was only presented verbally, with no job description provided. A shame for a position with national-level responsibility.
Then came the video conference with Antares. They do not present their business, values, or industry activity. The interview is completely one-sided. The questions they ask are relevant, but it is up to you to keep the discussion going.
Even when you ask them at the beginning of the interview to present the role, they make it clear that you are not there for that, and that they are there to evaluate you.
Even their recruitment agency does not understand why you would need to learn more about the company for a position with national-level responsibility because, and I quote, “you just need to look at their website, it is very well made.”
After this interrogation, you will receive an offer revised according to your experience (meaning lowered). You are then required to travel to Italy to actually discover the company and the reality of the position, which, to be fair, is not hidden. Or perhaps that is only the tip of the iceberg.
Good feeling with the local team on site. They will take the time to show you around the facilities and answer all your questions about the role. However, it is unfortunate that you have to travel internationally just to obtain this information.
There is almost no feedback after either your video interview or your visit to Italy, even if you made the trip. Expect waiting periods of seven to ten days between each stage.
They seem so uncomfortable presenting their offer that they ask someone outside the recruitment process to announce it to you verbally over the phone. You will almost feel the awkwardness when this person tells you that the work phone and laptop are included as “benefits.”
Do not even try to negotiate the salary, even for a sales position. Their ego is so oversized that they will delete their official offer even after sending it to you
