I was told this company were hiring for entry level management trainees as they were expanding and needed people to run new offices. After a brief chat with the owner in the office, I was invited back the next day to spend time with the company and see what they were about. After meeting a team leader and a few other people who worked there, I was driven to an unfamiliar housing estate and it turned out that this was actually a door to door sales role and not the management trainee position that they had discussed with me. It was mentioned that the management role came up eventually, but you would need to spend weeks, if not months, canvassing on behalf of this company.
I ended up spending the full day with this company (9.30-6.30pm) as when I said I didn’t want the job, it was suggested that I take a bus home or wait until the team had enough sales and were allowed to go back to the office. As I was not familiar with the area and was not allowed on my phone I had to stay with the team. I only went to this interview after seeing such positive reviews on here and feel that it is important to let people know what the job role really is with this company as it is not a job role that would suit everyone – which is why I think they were so vague about it during the interviewing process. I feel that they should be upfront and honest about the initial stages of the role and let candidates know what the job role actually involves. If you are looking for a door to door sales role working extremely long hours, 6 days a week then go for it. But if not, stay away and don’t waste your time here!!
