This process turned out to be disappointingly unprofessional. After 2 interviews and a mock proposal submission, I was congratulated on moving to the final round. After a number of back and forth emails coordinating timing for what was scheduled to be a 3 hour virtual interview with six different people, I spent nearly 8 hours preparing for and researching each individual, only to be called less than 24 hours prior and told that the interview was cancelled and the job had already been offered to another candidate. I had spoken to the recruiter just the evening before without so much as a word of this. To advance a candidate in a lengthy interview process and then offer the job to another prospect before completing the final round of interviews is short-sighted and disrespectful. Appian is growing at breakneck speeds this is what happens with hiring managers moving too quickly. If cracks are already appearing during the hiring process, I'd caution future recruits for what to expect once in the system.
