      Entrevista

I applied to a position originally called HR Business Partner on their website. Two weeks later, I get a call from them as a preliminary phone interview. The questions were typical (e.g., what did you do at your last place of employment, what kind of experience and interests do you have, etc.). Another phone interview took place the next day with their in-house recruiter. This call lasted 30 mins or so. After a few questions, he explains that my skills would be better suited for their Generalist position, whose job description will soon be confirmed as it is still being drafted, and that other people with more experience are already being considered for the Business Partner position. While I found this to be a fair decision (given that I intentionally overshot with the BP position), I asked why a Generalist position wasn't listed on their website in the first place, as this made things kind of misleading. He says he was just trying to recruit people and then place them where he saw fit - not really what one would call best practice. We also discussed salary. I made a fair market offer and he agreed. A few days later, I noticed the posting on their website was changed to "HR Generalist/BP", which was interesting. Since this call happened around Christmas, he told me to call back after the holiday to set a date for an in-person interview. When I called back, he said the Direction of HR and him were not able to finalize the job description yet, but set a tentative interview date and told me to call back to confirm in a few days. This back and forth went on three times; each time I called at the prescribed time, he says they weren't able to finalize it because the Dir. HR had to take a personal leave and sounded like he would rather be doing something else - "can't talk, have to be somewhere". The tentative interview date passed and when I called once more to see what expectations to hold, he said that my job description wasn't a priority for them at this moment and that they have "like three other more important things to do". He said he couldn't give me a timeline for when an interview would happen, at which point I told him that because of all these delays, I am forced to move in another direction. He jumps at this statement and immediately says things may change in the next 2 days, but it was already enough. I did not wish to work at a company that was so disorganized and careless with their recruitment and treatment of candidates. I have not heard back from him since.
