Most of the interview process at TrustToken was very positive, especially with Recruitment and People departments. They were very kind and professional. However, salary negotiation was exceptionally difficult and below-market (a low salary offer was repeatedly excused with "this is a remote job" even though the job itself ended up being regularly in-person at least once a month). Also, the "interview technique" of one executive was not professional. That executive's admitted goal was to fluster the interviewee. The people at this company are truly lovely individuals who I liked as people and would have loved to keep working with, but unfortunately the issues that presented themselves in the interview process should have tipped me off to the overall dysfunction to come.

It began with a take home challenge. I was given a week to complete it. Then I had a chat with the hiring manager. The interview was pleasant; it was apparent that culture is very important as it was more of a get to know you than an assessment. Finally there was a series of 5 interviews: 3 technical, 1 behavioral and 1 with the CEO. Everyone was a joy to speak with. The technical interviews were relatively challenging yet oddly enjoyable. They were more of a test of competency and less regurgitating algorithms.
