I had an in-person interview for an estimator role at Arcnova, and unfortunately, the experience felt very underwhelming. The entire interview lasted barely 10 minutes and felt more like a formality than a genuine effort to evaluate my fit for the position. They asked me to briefly explain my background, followed by a few basic questions like where I live, whether I have children, and my salary expectations. There was no technical discussion or deeper dive into my experience, even though my background aligns well with the role. At some point, one interviewer asked the other “Do you have anything else to ask?” once or twice, and that was it. There was no proper closing or indication that the interview had ended — I was left sitting there unsure whether to wait or leave. It genuinely felt like the decision had already been made before the interview even started. If that was the case, a simple phone screen would have been a more respectful use of both our time. To top it off, no one even thanked me for coming. Overall, the process came across as disorganized and discourteous. A little more professionalism and courtesy would have gone a long way.
