My experience with Asper was quite disappointing and reflects a lack of professionalism and transparency in their hiring process. Despite multiple conversations and clearly communicating my compensation expectations from the very beginning — including during face-to-face meetings and follow-up emails — the team failed to disclose their actual budget until much later in the process. I was told compensation wouldn’t be a constraint for the right candidate, only to later learn that the offer being considered was significantly below what was initially implied. While I appreciated being considered through a referral, the overall experience with Asper left me feeling undervalued and misled. I hope they take steps to be more transparent and respectful in their future hiring processes.
