I went through the entire selection process, including two interviews. I was suspicious that the first interviewer did not ask me any specific questions about my background or experience. The time was spent explaining the role. In the second round I was asked one token question and then had the role explained to me at length again. As this was a contract role, I am almost certain this process was to tick a box to allow them to hire a contractor they had already selected. I was just to fulfill a process of search and selection. Total waste of time. I think I may have dodged a bullet though, as the interviewers did not come across as people I would enjoy working with.
