One of the best interview processes I've ever experienced. They clearly value their candidates and respect their time. Started with a phone screen with the recruiter, followed by a 45-minute video call with the hiring manager, and an on-site interview. The on-site was about 3 hours long and included a culture fit interview, casual coffee break, and interactive design exercise. The design exercise was the toughest part, but also fun. It was broken up into two parts - time to collaborate with 2 other designers/PMs/engineers, and time to flesh out the idea on your own. Everyone I met was really nice and smart. After the interview, the recruiter was very transparent about interviewer feedback and what you can do to be more competitive.

Think of times when you've demonstrated each of Atlassian's values.
Completed a video interview with the recruiting team. They asked me to complete a design challenge, and then seemingly implemented some of my suggestions later, but was not offered the job

Interview process started out with a phone interview with the recruiter and then a design lead. Interview with the the recruiter was lovely and I felt like I was a great fit. Following that I had an interview with the design lead. It did not go well. They were 10 minutes late, grilled me on questions without much clarification, misdirected me to answer some questions incorrectly, and on top of all that they talked a lot about their personal life. Later on I found out the lead designer had an old coworker that he had in mind and he ended up hiring.

Give me an example of a project you worked on recently and your process with your team and company to make it.

By great leaps the best interview experience, I've had. At every step of the way, the Atlassian team was respectful, courteous, and professional. The process resembles many with the recruiter screening, director phone interview ( a portfolio review), an on-site (values interview, design challenge, and other meetings), and a follow up interview on behavior questions around work process. I feel that the Atlassian version of these was more thoughtful and process driven. It wasn't just a bunch of steps the team had to do. I was given feedback after the onsite which other big companies refuse to do.

Lots of behavior, "give me an example of" type questions. It's worth it to do a ton of prep.
