Interview experience for Data Analyst position
I was told the interview process would consist of 3–4 steps, including a CEO round. In reality, the process was poorly structured and much longer than communicated.
The process included two HR calls (one of them unplanned and held right after a 1.5-hour technical interview), a test task that felt close to unpaid work, and two technical interview rounds where many questions were repeated.
After completing all of this, I was asked to schedule a CEO interview. However, the day before the scheduled meeting, the company changed their decision and required an additional technical interview instead, again covering mostly the same questions. They also required in-office attendance in Kyiv for this extra round, even though team members work remotely. The Analytics Lead had to attend the interview immediately after arriving by train from another city, which further highlighted the lack of planning and consideration.
Overall, the process felt disorganized and unprofessional, with little respect for candidates’ and employees’ time. No feedback was provided after the rejection.

The process took around 1 month, including a test task, one behavioral round, three technical rounds, and a final round with the CEO.
Technical interviews focused on C++, low-level design, and operating systems. Interviewers were respectful and knew their domain in depth, so the questions were relevant.
Overall, it feels like the company has a good internal environment, as everyone seemed to be engaged in the process.

Brief call with the HR person for intro and background, followed by a take-home assignment that takes about 5 to 8 hours minimum to complete, several red flags on the assignment made me fear that the purpose of the task was not to evaluate the candidate but to solve the company's own problems, the flags:
- Make the code cross compile for windows and linux, for an already big task this is a ridiculous request.
- Oddly specific requirements that only make sense for a production environments.
After I submited the task, and after 2 weeks I got a lazy response that the solution "was not up to the standards", without any specific reason or technical justification, not even a short sentence. I have all the reasons to suspect that the company is not serious, and is just taking advantage from candidate's work to solve their technical problems. Do not fall from this trap and instead ask for an interview with an actual engineer before doing any kind of work for them.
