Candidatei-me online. O processo levou 1 semana. Fui entrevistado pela Avantpage Translations (Davis, CA) em fev. de 2024
Entrevista
I applied for a Project Manager role. There did not seem to be much thought put into the interview process by this company; the person conducting the initial interview was not privy to the translation/localization industry and not even an employee of the company, they were a third party recruiter conducting the interview. The interviewer was concerned about how I never held a managerial title and said I would better fit as a coordinator. I responded that I have already done the Coordinator level role twice and am qualified to be a manager. I was not asked many questions about the role itself. I was asked about salary, so I asked about the range/budget for the position. She pretended to search and then finally said she didn't think she had that. So then I responded that it must be premature to discuss salary at this time if a range has not yet been determined (the law requires that the employer give this upon request in CA). She then asked how much I was currently making (not legal to ask in CA). I dodged this question because this was just unprofessional at this point. At the end of the interview, I asked if she could give more details about the role and job duties but she began to describe her job duties as a recruiter and the company she worked for... I tried not to laugh and the interview ended there.

Una entrevista con recursos humanos, otra entrevista con el equipo con el que trabajarías, una prueba de PM. No pase a la tercer entrevista. La prueba era sencillas de situaciones normales que enfrenta un PM.

Entrevista
I was interviewed by someone from a third-party company based in Latin America. The person had no knowledge of the localization industry, even though the third-party company was supposed to be hiring people from this field. The recruiter asked me to clarify some questions they had written down in their document.

They asked me about tools and other basic things, not much. They also asked about my current compensation, which felt awkward since we weren’t discussing salary yet.
