There was a phone screen and a technical skills assessment which was completed remotely. I wasn't able to interview in person so my review won't cover that aspect of their process. There were a two very awkward moments during the process. First, while coordinating things with the recruiter, the recruiter asked if I knew anyone else who would be interested in the role which struck me as very unprofessional -- logically, why would I recommend any potential competitors? Secondly, I received two emails letting me know they didn't want to move forward in the interview processing, one of which was received as I was taking the technical assessment. This was very confusing and made me think twice about submitting the technical assessment at all as it felt like I was just using my time in vain. I realize it's a smaller company and still in start-up stage, but clean up the interview process; it feels very 'amateur'.
