Answered an advertisement posted online. After speaking to the recruitment agent, an on-site technical interview was arranged. The interview was not very technical at all. It was a suitable technical interview for a junior developer role, not a senior. I suspect the simplicity of the interview was due to the fact that most of the interviewers have poor technical skills despite being members of technical staff.

One phone call followed by one interview with a) the person doing the job currently b) his direct manager.
No HR. No screening. No tests. No due diligence. Background checks after the fact. Was able to sell myself on the basis of my experiences and the rapport built with the guy I was replacing.
