Candidatei-me online. Fui entrevistado pela Banyan Botanicals (Albuquerque, NM) em jan. de 2021
Entrevista
The interview process took place over a 4 week period via Zoom. The initial interview was with the HR Manager, followed by an interview with the HR Director, the Warehouse Manager and team, and one last interview with both the HR Manager and Director. All the interviews were fairly casual and personable, with the exception of the last interview being a surprise role play process, which included a series of work related scenarios and constructive feedback from HR. They also asked me to fill out an assessment online, which took about 2.5 hours. Overall, the entire process was time consuming and thorough, and they were slow at following up with me with a decision. Being that this is a new position for the company, they were still piecing together the details of the job description. Ultimately, they decided they needed a Bilingual (Spanish & English) employee. I was shocked and dismayed by this conclusion, as this is something most businesses have figured out in the very beginning of the hiring and make that very clear in the job posting. This was not the case for Banyan Botanicals. I was suspicious of this reason, as it felt more like an excuse to not offer me the position. I would have appreciated a more straightforward response, if they ended up choosing someone else they felt was more qualified. Instead, I felt strung along in their lengthy and time consuming process and felt it was handled unprofessionally in the end.

The questions by HR were more personable and not so focused on my past job experiences and how they related to the job being offered. I was asked if I would be willing to take on more responsibilities related to HR and begin my work day at 6am.

The great thing about their new interviewing process is that you will truly get to know who you may be working with, and spending a huge portion of your life with! The team immediately let me know that they had changed their hiring process to be a much more lengthy process. There were four interviews total.
1. Sent in resume/cover letter via email after seeing the job posting on their website.
2. Phone interview lasted approximately 30 minutes, which included several customer service related questions.
3. In-person interview A. The interview lasted 1.5 hours, and included four full pages of various customer service related questions, personality questions, and teamwork questions with two members of the team.
4. In-person interview B. The interview lasted about 1.5 hours, and started with an assessment that included customer service communication scenarios. The assessment was followed by an interview with two members of the team, and included two pages of questions.
5. In-person interview C. The interview lasted 2.5 hours, and started with an assessment that included team related communication scenarios. The assessment was followed by an interview with two people from the team, two pages of questions, and then, a meeting with the co-founder of the company.
If you enjoy chatting with fun people, you'll love the interview process, and it will only want you to work with Banyan even more than you likely already do! The interview process is much more difficult than most, especially for customer service, but in my opinion, choosing candidates for customer service positions should not be taken lightly. This will test your stamina and passion!
