Candidatei-me online. Fiz uma entrevista na empresa Batra Group Real Estate (New York, NY).
Entrevista
Jay Batra (CEO of Batra Group) called me after submitting an application online and asked questions about my background. I answered them all and he said I am someone they want to work with and invited me to their office. I asked him if he has some time to answer my questions as well because as an Independent Contractor, his company will take 50% of my commission for every deal I close and I am interviewing with different brokerages so I want to understand their culture, tech, marketing, commission splits and other fees before moving forward. His mood immediately changed when I started asking about the company culture (this is just the first 2 questions on my list). He got offended and insulted me for being a mother. He said that I should not work given my circumstances. I didn’t want to continue the conversation because I don’t want this person to keep berating me. We ended the phone call there and I was unable to ask about their tech and other areas of the business. I am posting this because I want every agent out there reviewing options to learn from my experience. I am not saying this is how it will always be but this encounter says so much about the company and I can only assume that if I become part of this organization, the leadership does not care about their employees but only cares about how much deals each agent brings in because that’s how they make their money.
