The camp director called me and I was hired after a short conversation. A week later you will receive a packet of information and forms in the mail for you to fill out. You will have to go through a training week where the camp policies and procedures are introduced. During the training week staff may be given more responsibilities such as assistant unit directors, or teen counselors, there is not salary increase for these positions but they probably look better on a resume. That being said, I would treat the first week as part of the hiring process. The camp is usually has a hard time finding male counselors so that is something to keep in mind.
