On November 20th 2024, I had an interview with BeatBox Beverages for the People and Culture position. I was initially scouted for the role and proactively pursued the opportunity to secure an interview. I had the privilege of speaking with the individual I would report to if selected. The interview was positioned as a “quick chat” but turned into an excellent conversation. I was commended for my preparation and knowledge about the organization and was informed that I would move forward to the next rounds after the Thanksgiving break. I was told to expect two additional interviews, along with a detailed timeline. Following the conversation, I sent a thoughtful thank-you email and included a project I created specifically for the role. Unfortunately, I did not hear back. I followed up once more but received no response. I was surprised and disappointed to later receive a generic rejection email stating that the role had been filled, as if I had never interviewed. It was particularly disheartening given the prior communication that I would advance to the next stages. Being unemployed is already a difficult experience, and receiving misleading or unclear information only adds unnecessary frustration. For an organization that prides itself on its people and culture, I had expected a more transparent and respectful process.

There are five interviews. Last one is with your manager and two other in-office managers. They will occur rather quickly. Examples of your skill set will be requested. You will be asked if are financial able to secure your hotels for the week until you receive your corporate card.
