Received a call from the store HR to affirm interest in the job and setup an interview. The lady spoke with gave me an option of Friday or Monday for an interview. I asked for Monday, though she apparently wrote me down for Friday, so they weren't expecting me when I showed up on Monday. None the less, I interviewed with a department manager. The interview was very professional and consisted of about 4 or 5 STAR type interview questions. While they didn't have either of the two positions open that I applied for (even though they were listed on the best buy site a day before I applied) they were able to meet my minimum salary requirement with the job they had available. The manager told me I would get a call the next day to set up an interview with the store manager and she even gave me a few tips for that interview.
The next day, I got a call to come in for an interview that same day. I met with the store manager who was very professional. He asked only a couple questions, mainly about what challenges I (and other Best Buy employees) might face in regards to customer service. I spoke about the difficulty of brick and mortar stores competing with the likes of Amazon and Newegg and how physical stores need to have the advantage of having very knowledgeable employees in order to draw customers away from ordering online. At the end of the interview, he gave me the task of selling him a computer after presenting me with the form that Best Buy uses for customers to outline services. It was kind of an on the spot final exam. The store manager gave me a quick (and positive) review of my selling at the end and offered me a position. Once my drug test and background check go through, I'll be able to start my orientation.
