Interview process is long. It was about a month for me from start to finish. First call was with a recruiter 15 minute initial screening. Second interview was a 45minute video call with a team member to review a project. Had another 15 minute intermediate call with the recruiter to see if I was still interested. I was asked to do a 4-6 hour design exercise prior to the in-person interview. Main interview was a 6 hour day at HQ with a few in person meetings and a few through video chat. Not sure why I wasn’t made an offer when they reached out to me to invite me to apply, after having obviously prescreened my work, I talked to several people — so if there had been any red flag about my “cultural fit” you’d think they would have known without stringing me along for 4 weeks. And no feedback was given other than a generic “going in another direction” Main feedback is to not waste a candidate’s time. Those responsible for interviewing and hiring should know enough about a candidate to make an informed decision after a couple of interviews. A candidate should be well vetted and have about a 95% chance of getting an offer if they make it to the point you’re asking them to commit more than a couple of interviews — especially when they commit to a day-long interview.
