Entrevista
Interview is pretty straight forward. You'll meet with people that work in the sales org and other departments. They'll give you half the time to ask questions and everyone is generally pretty friendly. Its important to point out that BetterUp seems like a very YOUNG company where they'll value things like 'energy' & 'ability to fit' over more tangible examples of being an agent of change for your past clients, your degree of business acumen, past performance, etc. This is pretty typical behavior when you scale up an organization and put a lot of leaders in place where its their first leadership role. So definitely come to the interview bright eyed and bushy tailed. Also If you're a seasoned sales professional, be prepared to go through trivial sales exercises that are conducted by folks that haven't worked directly in sales before. Its the equivalent of asking someone who has been a database administrator for 10 years if they know what a relational database is. The exercises are a bit soul crushing granted you're not brand new to sales, but you can jump through the hoops easily enough if you prep. I hope this helps, good luck!

They'll ask you pretty basic interview questions, like what are your strengths/weakness. How would others describe you? Examples of where you learned something and improved, etc.

I interviewed at BetterUp 2x, for a total of 14 interviews for an account executive role. Both rounds required many hours of preparation.
The first time I did 6 interviews. After the 6th interview I was told I didn't have a necessary skill and I should go get it at another company because BetterUp did not want to train that skill. So I did that.
Several months later, I came back and interviewed again. I was required to do the same 6 interviews. This time I was told after the 6th interview that I did the best job on that skill possibly that the interviewer had ever seen and she gave me a "gold star."
I moved on to the next round, I next met with a VP who also passed me on to a final round. I anticipated the final round would be a "congrats, you made it this far" warm kind of tone, but I could tell from the moment that the interview started that the interviewer did not like my resume or me. I left wondering if this was a psychological tactic to see how I handled someone being cold to me.
I didn't get the role. I was told by the recruiter "It's us not you. Come back again." Apparently a founder was supposed to do the last interview for the first 1000 employees and they weren't available that day, so a different senior leader did the interview. She said they were going to restructure the interview process. After 14 interviews, and 6 months of effort, I won't be trying a 3rd time. For an individual contributor role, this is by far, the most time I have ever spent on an interview process. In the end, I walked away from BetterUp feeling completely turned off and disrespected.

How do you manage your time? A strategy scenario: what would you do? A mock discovery process.

Long complicated and demanding and meandering. Not clear on steps and asked for supporting docs. Seemed to be a formula on questions rather than a conversation. It seemed very canned and long.
