I reached out to the hiring manager on LinkedIn; she immediately got me in touch with the recruiter after our conversation, and it was smooth sailing after that! The interview process was coordinated in a super professional and organized fashion. I never once had to follow up to ask for my status as a candidate, and both the recruiter and hiring manager even reached out to offer me tips on how to ace questions from leadership once I got to latter points in the process.
Mid-process, it became apparent that another role that wasn't even posted publicly would be a better fit for me, and I was thrilled that they had taken the time to assess what I wanted in a role as well as what my previous work experience indicated I'd be successful at, and offered me a chance to pursue a new role for which I knew I'd be a perfect fit. I only interviewed a founder and a couple of other members of the team after that since I'd already been vetted in previous rounds.
The interview process was lengthy, but I also contributed to that by asking to speak to other folks in the company I thought could give me as detailed a view of the role and the culture as possible. I even told my (now) manager that I intended to ask her direct reports about her management style, and she welcomed those inquiries with open arms. The transparency and warmth were unmatched, and as a person of color who was navigating multiple opportunities at other companies simultaneously, it was refreshing and ultimately the reason why I chose BetterUp.
