I submitted my resume and cover letter through the company's website and was contacted by a recruiter five days later. A phone interview was scheduled for the following week. I spoke to two scientists from the department, and they asked me details about my job duties and experience. A few days later I received an email to schedule a formal interview. It was a half day interview where I met with all of the scientists from the department as well as the VP and department manager. Each interview lasted 30 minutes, and the final 30 minutes of the day was spent having a casual lunch with associate scientists from the department. The scientists and the VP asked standard questions about things listed on my resume as well as general questions about my work experience. Nothing too surprising. The department manager asked about how I dealt with difficult situations from my past jobs. Those questions were a bit trickier but, having taken time to prepare before the interview, it went well. I was contacted with the job offer two weeks later.

I was asked by one scientist to explain to him a specific aspect of flow cytometry to see if I truly understood the concept of this technique.

The interview process was intimidating, but fair! It was with the whole team. It was a panel interview where they had groups of 3 ask questions. It was to get a feel for my expertise and knowledge in the field.

Applied online, got an HR call several weeks later for 10 min, 2 weeks later phone call from hiring manager, 2-3 weeks later on-site interview. Flight is booked through them, and hotel, travel, and food expenses get reimbursed (make sure to check the sheet they give you in detail as to what they reimburse). On-site interview was from 8am - around 1pm. You get escorted by a HR person to a room where you give an app. 30 min presentation about what something you've worked on before (a scientific presentation basically on a project etc you've worked on). Be prepared for questions from the several (4-5) people in the room. You'll then meet with each individual for app. 30 min. in a separate room where they'll ask further questions and they'll assess if you're a good candidate. Do keep in mind, they will bring around 5 or so people who are qualified for the same position on site for the same interview. After the on-site interview, it may take a while to hear back. App. 1.5-2 months after the on-site interview in my case. Overall it was a pleasant experience as everyone was courteous. Do keep in mind in general that while everyone is courteous and may laud you on perhaps your research etc, you don't get the job until you have the written/typed up offer letter.
Extra points: They give you a goody bag before your presentation that includes a water bottle, and you get lunch as well around 12pm. They also have really good benefits which is enticing
