I submitted my application online, and about a week later received an automated message asking me to provide my availability via a calendar tool. I did so, and received no email back after about 3 days of waiting. I messaged the recruiter and let them know that I had submitted my availability and asked if they needed any additional information. I very quickly receive an email with an invitation to participate in the initial screening call. 3 minutes prior to when this call was scheduled, I receive an email from the recruiter saying they weren't feeling well and would need to reschedule. No worries, things happen. We reschedule. Fast forward to the rescheduled time, and 4 minutes *after* the interview was supposed to start, the recruiter informs that their morning has been hectic and they need to reschedule. They asked if I was free later in the day or the next day, to which I said I had open availability both days. At 6pm ET the next day I get an email from the recruiter saying they'll be out the next day so we'd need to do something next week. That was the third strike, so I sent an email to the recruiter informing them I was no longer interested in the position. A lot of the reviews of Bitly from 2023 are about how their recruiting process is a nightmare, and my experience definitely lines up with those reviews. I don't know what's going on with Bitly's talent acquisition team, and I know that one person doesn't represent an entire team, but if these reviews and my experience are any indication, Bitly may not be a company worth working for.
