Candidatei-me de outra forma. Fui entrevistado pela Black Spectacles (Los Angeles, CA) em fev. de 2026
Entrevista
Initial phone call with recruiter, general questions. Was asked afterwards to officially apply to role.
The application was easy, but consisted of a Predictive Indicator test. 10 minutes to do.
Next was a more "official" call with the recruiter. Asked me to summarize my experience - thinking the result would be a meaningful thought provoking exercise in fit and alignment for the role.
No, the next questions were "tell me 5 things you are good at" then " tell me 5 things you want to improve".
So the PI test and now live PI testing?
No thanks - these are not good indicators of role fit and success, especially for a senior leader.
I abruptly ended the call because I saw more red flags then a nascar race

steps:
- Phone screen
- Take home coding assignment
- 2 hour zoom meeting with various team members
- 2 hour offline "personality exam"
The coding assignment was figuring out an algorithm for how to change lanes given a input set. I used chatGPT to get most of the way through it. Not too difficult.
The virtual interview was a little weird, a lot of questions about high school. I'm pretty experienced in my role and high school was a long time ago. I don't like thinking about high school so I didn't like that.
The personality exam was really grueling and didn't make much sense.
In all honesty there were a lot of red flags throughout the interview process. If I hadn't been just recently laid off and worried about finding work I would have not accepted the offer.

Interview seemed to back up some of the negative reviews found on here regarding the dichotomy of words and actions not lining up.
I spent over 3 hours across multiple interviews only to be ghosted after being told by the CEO that he was "really looking forward to a follow up". Because the only feedback I got pertained to the first interview I had (not the 2nd or 3rd), I can only speculate as to what the reasons were for not closing out the process with me, but I had expressed an interest in speaking to more people in the company to get a feel for what life would be like in the company - and maybe they are looking for blind trust. Based on the negative reviews, I wanted to ensure I wasn't putting myself in a bad position switching from the job I currently hold making the same amount of money as they offered but with a lot less structure. After all, what they need in the role I applied for is stability and someone willing to make a long-term investment in that company.
Overall, I really enjoyed the conversations with the few people I met, but I don't get the feeling they will attract, or are prepared to work with, serious professionals who will have high expectations and want to question the way things are done in an effort to support the growth of the business.
I was happy to have the interview experience, and hopefully helped them realize what they are looking for in their ideal candidate. I just wish they had given me the courtesy of following through on their words or at least responding to my followup emails.
