A couple days after the initial application, I got an interview invitation that with very thorough description of the process and steps as well as a promo code for the premium subscription to get familiar with the app.
The first interview was with their Web Circle Lead, we discussed my background and motivation and had a nice chat about the product and the organization structure.
The next step was a task that I needed to do at home. It was very business related and unique, while still giving them a lot of understanding of your thought process. I really enjoyed this part.
But it was the technical interview when thing got weird. At first we discussed my solution and talked about my background and experience. But after that I was asked a few questions that basically had one specific right solution the interviewer was looking for. One of them, in my opinion, had very little relevance to the work a Web Developer would be doing at the company. It was so disappointing after the exciting experience I had before.
Overall, I think the interview process is designed really well at Blinkist and there’s a really good chance you’ll enjoy it.
