Recruiter call followed by on-site interviews with the team (pre-covid). No hiring manager initial call - which seems a bit unusual - and is not the best use of everyone’s time in my view. Best practice to do this - it shows that the hiring manager actually cares and saves everyone a lot of time and work if it’s not a fit. Interviewers were generally pleasant enough. Interview loop lacked diversity. All under 30 and no men - bit weird. The hiring manager appeared to be bored and made no effort to converse during the on-site which made me feel that it had been a bit of a waste of time prepping for and coming to the interview. My impression is that by the time she met with me the decision had already been made. I wouldn’t recommend investing the time in interviewing for an ic role in this function if you’re in your 40s and/or a man. Shame, cool product.
