Entrevista
Long interview with the internal recruiter (who reached out to me) that went exceptionally well, with the recruiter saying it sounds liked I'd be a great fit and she'd like to get me to the COO to interview ASAP. The interview with the COO goes well, although I end up doing more of the talking asking a lot of detailed questions - there are no set goals for the role, the person would have a lot of autonomy etc.... Ok, great, so I talk through some recent relevant experiences about how I'd think through what the goals should be after seeing specific performance data, teams I would involve, cross functional collaboration etc... interview ended well and I'm told the recruiter will be back in touch.
Two weeks roll by, and the recruiter sends me a short email saying "my experience isn't the right match for their current needs." Shocked, I ask for more detailed feedback given a pretty stellar interview process up to that point. Crickets.
This kind of treatment of candidates is unacceptable. When you ask candidates to invest significant time and energy interviewing, and lead them to believe they're a great fit and then turn around and do a 180 and tell them they're not, they deserve to know exactly what happened.
