      Entrevista

      I applied for what was advertised as a remote, full-time role, for a range upwards $120K only to experience a disorganized process that culminated in a bait-and-switch offer. The Interview Process: First Interview (Virtual): The process began with a Zoom call where I discussed my experience and skills. The conversation centered on managing paid media campaigns and preparing for their upcoming peak season. While the team seemed friendly, there was already a lack of clarity about the role and responsibilities. Second Interview (In-Person): Despite the position being promoted as remote, I was asked to come into the office for an in-person interview. This seemed primarily to confirm I was local and raised concerns about the true nature of the role, which leaned heavily toward in-office or hybrid work. Bait-and-Switch Offer: Following the interviews, I was presented with a vague and disappointing offer: Instead of a full-time position, I was asked to "try each other out" for a week as a consultant. Compensation was pitched at an annualized rate of $80K, far below market expectations for both full-time and consulting work. The company openly admitted they did not have a clear scope of work for the project. I was pressured to confirm my availability immediately, leaving little opportunity to clarify expectations or negotiate terms. Role Misrepresentation: What started as a remote opportunity became a hybrid, in-office role with no transparency about location expectations until after significant time had been invested in the process. Pros: The team was friendly during interviews. Insight into the company’s media work. Cons: Misleading role expectations: A remote position turned hybrid/in-office. Bait-and-switch offer: Full-time role reduced to a short-term, poorly paid consulting “try-out.” Lack of clarity: Undefined job scope and poor communication about responsibilities. Pressure tactics: Urgency to accept an offer without proper time to assess it. Advice to Management: Be transparent with candidates about role location, responsibilities, and compensation upfront. A clear, respectful hiring process is essential for attracting qualified talent and saving everyone’s time
