      Entrevista

The interview process was one of the strangest I've ever been a part of. It was disjointed, disorganized, and it appeared as though nobody in the organization was speaking to anyone else. It started with me applying for the opening in early June. I never heard anything so I moved on. In August, I received a strange email out-of-the-blue requesting that I perform an Excel test by creating a dashboard with a year's worth of their customer service data. I had not even spoken to anyone about this job, and my application was submitted months and months ago. I shrugged, and did the test, submitting it back to the individual who requested it of me. I received no response from them. Again, I shrugged my shoulders and moved on. A week or two later, another person from the organization reached out to me to see if I was available for a 20 min interview. Only 20 minutes after spending several hours completing their test for them? OK maybe that's just their process. I agreed and we set something up. The time of the interview came, and the individual never called me as they said they would. I emailed the woman who set up the interview asking if we were still on. I did not receive a response from her, but the interviewer did contact me via text message asking if we could reschedule for an hour later. I didn't have anything going on so I agreed. An hour later the interviewer did call me, and we spoke at length about my skills and experience. I was able to answer all of her questions and show my eligibility for the position in every way except one: I did not have specific experience on-boarding a large team quickly. I did, however, have the relevant experience for a small team, and I've exclusively done all my hiring at every organization I've ever been a part of, and statistically those agents stuck around for an average of 2 years before either leaving or being promoted which is pretty decent for an entry-level CS position. Not good enough. After our interview, I shrugged again and assumed I would not hear back from Bombas because of that one very specific need of theirs. I sent a thank-you note anyway, thanking the interviewer for their time and wishing them the best of luck in their search. About a week later I received an email from a third person at the organization requesting I complete the same Excel test that I completed a month ago. Perhaps I'm still in the running, but I've already submitted this test before I even had the phone call. Shaking my head, I submitted my original test, as well as a detailed explanation for my dashboard, and the slicers that I added that allowed me to track the data for any given date range required. This morning I got a generic rejection letter from a no-reply email address at Bombas. All in all the experience was time-consuming, frustrating, and lacked professionalism. I'm glad I got the rejection letter, this doesn't seem to be the type of company I want to work for anyway.
