I applied for a position at BAH and was contacted by HR a couple of days later. After the initial phone interview, I was set up to do a 1 on 1 interview. I had my interview at the McLean office. There was another person being interviewed at the same time as I was. The process was about 3 hours long.
First you talk to the recruiter and he/she will give you a run down on the company. After that, you meet your interviewers, yes, interviewers (4 of them). Each one takes about 30 mins or so. They will ask questions about your resume but nothing too off the wall. It can be a little intimidating for someone that hasn't been through many interviews. The questions were very straight forward and centered about my qualifications and if I can get the job done or not. There weren't any of those stupid questions of where do I see myself in 5 years or what's my weakness. They cared more about if I can get the job done or not. So the interview was easy because I knew my job well and answered the questions well. Basically, don't "fluff" on your resume or you will get called on it!
After the interview, you are told that you should hear something very soon. I received a phone call from the recruiter the next day stating that they would like to make me an offer and I should receive the "package" that has the offer letter in a couple of days. I did get it in a couple of days and was hired shortly after.
The whole process seemed very organized and professional unlike other companies that interview and make an offer over the phone without having a 1 on 1 interview. BAH seemed at a higher class and caliber and that's why I chose to take the offer. I interviewed with other major defense contractors such as SAIC, BAE, CACI and BAH was more professional and organzied.
