I was contacted via Indeed about the interview by the person I'd be replacing, as she was leaving the area, the owner asked her to help find someone. I showed up to a cute but small restaurant and asked for the owner, Mike (not his real name)
He greeted me.ans sat down in a booth at the far end of the restaurant. It was typical what are your strengths, availability, etc. He pointed out that I had a ton of experience and said he liked my personality and attitude. He then said well, I'm gonna offer you the job, if you'd like it. I agreed. He stated he'd contact me in a week or so, as they were trying to also bring on more kitchen staff in order to expand hours. Sounded great. I replied via email a few days later thanking him for the interview, offer and said I looked forward to hearing from his soon.
Nearly two weeks later, after I tried contacting him via email and phone with zero response...I simply got a one line email "we won't be taking anyone new k at this time"
I cancelled three other interviews in the following week from the day I sat with him. It makes me very angry thinking of how unprofessional it was.
