I had a conversation with the recruiter who gave me several dates to follow up but no indication of progress. Many excuses are made however no formal indication if I was ever presented to the hiring manager.

I was contacted by the recruiter and did a phone screen with him. Then I spoke with the hiring manager on the phone. The recruiter then let me know that the hiring manager wanted to bring me on site for interviews. I worked with a recruiting coordinator to schedule the interviews. They usually do one day of 4-5 interviews, but I had to split mine up into 2 days because of my work schedule. At the end of my 2nd day, the hiring manager let me know that I was the first to interview for the position and that they would be talking to more candidates over the next couple weeks. Ultimately, I think the delay had more to do with the fact that really hadn't decided what they wanted the role to be. They were stuck on whether they should hire more of the same or try someone with a different skill set that was desperately needed but didn't feel comfortable with.
