Very impressive initial phone interview. Be prepared to provide a snapshot of where you came from and the direction you see yourself going. These recruiters are talented professionals and want to know that you have fervent ability to perform. More so, they're seeking your ability to get out of the gates quickly by identifying whether you've done your homework. It may seem like common sense, but it's crucial to understand how their platform helps businesses and for a serious contender to show a general working knowledge of how to utilize Box. The initial phone interview was extremely conversational and provided perspective I really wasn't expecting. I quickly recognized that my interviewer, Alley, has an obvious passion for the company and a keen sense of what they need in a quality candidate. I knew going in that it probably wasn't the best opportunity for me, but wanted to at least see what it entailed to pick the brain of someone on the inside of a well known software company. It surprised me that I ended the call feeling a bit silly for not taking it more serious, but at the end of the day it helped me become a better interviewer. I should aim to hit a home run no matter what and Alley offered some great advice for someone in my position moving forward with future opportunities. If all of Box's recruiters are a fraction of what Alley Covarrubias brings to the table... I can tell Box will continue to define themselves as a leader in the industry, capable of providing a rewarding career path for the right individuals.
