After I applied for the role, I was contacted by an in house recruiter within 30 minutes to set up a call for the following Monday.
The 30 minute video interview took place on schedule the following Monday and it was with a hiring manager. At about the 20 minute mark, the hiring manager told me she was excited to move me forward to the next round and described who I would be speaking to next. Because the next person had a busy schedule, I was told it may be a day or two before we could schedule that next round. At the end of the call, she reiterated her excitement about moving me forward and the expected timeframe.
Instead, however, I received a canned response later in the week from the recruiter (not the hiring manager) explaining the role had been filled. I emailed the hiring manager directly to mention this and ask for honest feedback but have not heard back since I sent it 3 weeks ago.
Advice for Braze: a little understanding and humility go a long way. When someone asks for honest feedback after this kind of experience, radio silence adds insult to injury. For someone who was very excited about the organization and role, this experience left a bad taste in my mouth and now I will not be applying for any role at Braze for the foreseeable future.
