I initially had a positive experience with the recruiter and hiring manager, both of whom I spoke with via Zoom. However, the interview with the director was a stark contrast. From the moment we started, I could sense a lack of interest on their part. There was no review of my resume or introductions made - we just jumped straight into the interview. The director mentioned they’d give me 5 minutes at the end for questions, but this felt more like a formality than something they valued. Throughout the interview, the director asked very basic, standard questions, as if simply ticking off a checklist, without making an effort to truly understand my background or skills. When I had the opportunity to ask questions at the end, the answers were brief and unhelpful. It was clear that the director had already made up their mind about me, and the conversation felt uninspiring and disengaged. It was a disappointing experience compared to the earlier stages of the process.
