Very interesting interview process, to say the least. I first applied on LinkedIn and was then contacted by the in-house recruiter to schedule a phone interview. The phone interview was nearly a half hour long, and it was the recruiter going through very basic interview questions without much desire to be on the call. Similar to the experience of others written here, it was very blase and bland. I was then sent an exercise to complete before scheduling the next interview.
Once that interview phase was passed, I was then asked to schedule an in-person interview with another member of the HR team. Very blase and basic interview as well. The most exciting part was when they asked me to do an exercise in NetSuite, and even this was relatively boring.
The final interview was a scheduled video conference with the VP of Retail. Somewhat challenging interview, and it was much more engaging than my previous 2 interviews. At the end, she asked if I could provide references and if I consented to a background check. I'm unsure if this was ever checked because I received an email 2 days later saying that they had gone with somebody else.
What was odd about this is that the job posting was recently posted 2 days ago, which leads me to believe that Brilliant Earth is scouring the market of people looking for retail jobs without the intention of hiring someone for this position. Do market research all you want, but don't want an applicant's time. Also, providing feedback further in the rejection email will make it seem less impersonal and cold.

Tell me about a time where you had to coach a difficult sales associate.

Lengthy, runaround, and waste of time. Took a month to get through almost 4 rounds, and was denied due to level of experience. (Way above what they were looking for). If you are going to interview, you would think the 3 interviews before the final would determine your skill set.
Three rounds - phone screen, hour long video interview with HR, then hour long interview with Director. Followed by offer call. Basic sales questions and customer service questions. Managerial skills probed.
