Time consuming, disappointing and confusing. First there is a phone interview that is scheduled online and held at inconvenient hours of the day. I would say this step is easy to pass but then there is a video interview which is mostly repetitive. The only things that were different is that it’s a different person, they can see you from a distance and they show you there screen to show you how to book an appointment which monkey can do. This step could be done in the in person interview. The multiple step process is bizarre and nothing like I have ever experienced before. Then came the in person interview this was pleasant to see the location and meet the people I would actually work with. The last step was a refrence check done by some 23ish year old that’s out of state. Something went wrong with this part for me so I didn’t get hired. They say the offer is contingent on the references but they won’t tell you what was wrong with your references. They were really rude over the phone to me and I felt like I wasted my time and that this company isn’t really worth what they want to perceive themselves to be. Also if someone gave me a bad review the HR person wasn’t seasoned enough to discern all the information. The hiring decisions should be made by store managers and not by personnel out of state. I wonder why they always have a want ad out. No GIA trained sales people at this location not in line with other major jewelers.
