I submitted my application in Oct and received an email in January to schedule a phone interview with the H.R. She is a very sweet and helpful person that tried her best to answer your questions.
Later in the week I had an in-person interview with the supervisor - although a few minutes late, he was also a very polite and nice gentleman to talk to. I was asked to introduce myself, why did I choose C-SPAN, what aspects of me did I want to improve, and how did I see myself in 5 years. The supervisor introduced what the job would be like, how C-SPAN operates, as well as C-SPAN’s values. He also patiently answered my various questions. At the end of the interview, I was asked to fill out an assessment to test my knowledge about Washington. The in-person interview was a very pleasant experience.
I felt very respected as a candidate throughout the process. Although I was not offered a job at the end, I am thankful for this opportunity to learn. To be honest, I’d still like to stay connected with their people because of their courtesy, values, and respectful attitude towards me. Whomever they picked at the end, I sincerely wish them the best.
