If you’re a woman or POC avoid applying here as you will be wasting your time. I was invited to CGI’s graduate recruitment process, which began with a well-organised assessment centre there where 9 people ( every single one was male I was the only woman and that was the first red flag) . The recruiter was genuinely supportive and welcoming at that stage, and I appreciated the chance to learn more about the company.
Unfortunately, my final stage interview was disappointing. I was interviewed by two people one was the lead data scientist and the other a newer AI developer. From the moment the interview began, I felt the atmosphere was cold and rigid. There was no effort to create a human or welcoming connection, especially considering it was a graduate interview.
The questions were highly technical and fast-paced, with little room for conversation, discussion, or warmth. As a recent graduate, I expected a more supportive tone especially when interviewing for an entry-level role. I tried to stay positive, but I felt judged very quickly and never really given the chance to fully express myself.
Feedback took over three weeks, despite being promised clear communication regardless of outcome. In the end, I received a rejection with limited explanation, though I appreciated that it eventually came.
