Volunteered within the department for 3 months, was recommended for the position, applied, interviewed by manager, called in to review offer, tried to negotiate salary but that was not an option. Although I had 10+ years of clerical, data entry, administrative assistant experience, and 6 months away from obtaining a BS in Health Administration, I was told that I didn't have healthcare industry experience and had to start at the lowest base pay; there was no room for negotiation.
