I applied online through LinkedIn then received an email a week later from a recruiter to schedule an intro call. The call was casual & more conversational as he briefly explained the role & I gave details about my experience. He stated he would follow up to see about scheduling as second interview within a few days. He stated the position was a 2 stage interview process, granted what he noted was actually three - Intro call, virtual interview then a final interview. I didn't hear from him until 2.5 weeks later to see if I still was interested in the role & suggested another role I may be a good fit for. We scheduled a virtual interview with one of the hiring managers for 2 days later. During the virtual call, I was the only person with their camera on so it made things quite awkward. Interviewers should ALWAYS show their face on a virtual interview. A few days later he reached out stating they wanted me to come onsite for an interview with the same hiring manager plus the other hiring manager for the role I originally applied for. I asked if it was truly the last interview & he stated yes, that the team would make a decision within the next 24-48 hrs following the interview. I completed the interview & still haven't heard back from the recruiter almost 2 weeks later. No follow-up, status update, nothing. So I have now taken this as being ghosted after being so professional & flexible with the team.
A true two step interview process does not take almost 2 months to complete.
