I applied as a cashier and a pharmacy tech online over the weekend for one location and was called for an interview at another location 3 days later. I was interviewed for both positions at the same time and later found out that, if hired, they would cross-train me to learn the front of store duties and pharmacy. I really wanted to train to be in the pharmacy OR front of store. Cross training sounded OK until I was told that I wouldn't even get to start learning about the pharmacy until 6 months into the job. I was given the impression that after training in all areas, I would be an extra helper they would call per diem and/or I would be at the bottom of the totem pole, doing anything that nobody else felt like doing. This did not sit well with me because I am looking for a career, not to be a general helper whenever they feel like calling me in. Walking in the store, it was very misleading to see their hiring sign for a Pharmacy Technician only to be told that I would be cross trained and would not start learning the pharmacy end of the job for 6 months.
The interview was scheduled for exactly 1 week after I submitted the application. The interview was conducted by 2 managers. 1 was nice and personable but didn't know what to say or ask. The other acted like doing the interview was a chore and had a passive aggressive attitude the whole time. She also texted on her cellphone for the first 5 minutes of the interview, but eventually took charge because the other manager had to leave momentarily due to a phone call. The questions asked were challenging but expected for the most part. However, the unpredictable attitude of one of the managers made the experience very difficult. She would go between being nice and understanding to being passive aggressive and even repeating back the things I would say in a sarcastic tone, laughing. Between this and the texting, it was very unprofessional and I am really disappointed. Even if I am offered the position, I will not take it.
