I had worked for an inventory company for 10 years and interviewed with a store manager that was in charge of hiring and training new management and shifts. He declined to interview me and had me interviewed by another manager of a high volume store. I would suggest if you want to come in as a potential manager that you know the manager. Be open and honest. Tell them what you are good at and why you are the best person for the job. for example...I know what it means to be not only dependable but willing to work hard! They will appreciate that. Most of our managers will work as hard if not harder than you..Be aware of what needs to be done and help your Manager do it! Be willing to do things that you think are below your pay. Be ready to take out trash. Cashier. or whatever your manager needs because in this work environment with cvs he can not do it all himself/herself. A manager needs dedicated people that can get the job done despite an overload of work. Be ready to sweat yourself. Be caring to that 1 other person in the store the cashier. Be ready to train run duck look and excell. There will only be you and a cashier. You will not be trained exactly just thrown in and expected to do the job. After awhile of this if you are tough enough you learn.
