Was interviewed by a panel composed of a Sr Investment Director and another 2 Sr Portfolio Managers. I understood from the hiring manager that they selected an internal candidate. This is my 3rd interview for different positions in 6 months. I believe that for all these positions from Asst Portfolio Manager to Sr Portfolio Managers at CalSTRS, they already have a preferred internal candidate in mind and the process is just a waste of candidates' time to follow bureaucratic processes. This is where the private sector seems different from state owned agencies. The process is extremely seems biased particularly against underrepresented candidates such as myself."
