I interviewed to manage their midtown location a while back. They reached out to me. Twice, in fact, and gave me the hard sell on their company. I drove out to New Jersey and spoke with the owner, who readily admitted that this store was being mismanaged. I had prior to my interview done some research and read countless reviews of the mess that was this location. It was mismanaged, period.
The interview was going well and we discussed some solutions and ideas I had for the store. I have previously turned failing, mismanaged stores into winners and she seemed impress that I actually knew what I was talking about, including specifics to their company. Unfortunately, the owner didn't care about fixing the problem, she only cared how much money I was asking for. Her store is a mess, yet paying someone a reasonable salary was out of the question. As soon as she asked what salary I was looking for, she rolled her eyes and ended the interview.
I found out what makes this company tick and I have told several people to avoid any offers from them. Their loss.
