1. One way video interview where there are pre-recorded questions from the employees. You have 2 minutes to think of your answer and 1 minute to answer the question. There are about 8 questions. 2. A panel interview with 3 people from CPE. This stage of the interview was handled poorly. It was question after question after question, which made it seem like an interrogation rather than a conversation. 3. (I did not make it this stage. This is what I was told the next step would be). Take home assignment 4. Another interview 5. Reference Checks 6. Offer Overall, a terrible interview process. The fact they need reference checks after so many steps in the interviewing process shows they're too many cooks in the kitchen. One way video interviews are extremely insulting to candidates and reflect poorly on the candidate experience which I'm sure also reflects the culture at CPE. After my second interview I was told they were having an off-site gathering and they would follow up when they came back. Why would you interview candidates when you know you're not going to get back to them in a timely manner? Another reason this was a terrible candidate experience. Some of the questions I was asked in my panel interview were unrelated to the role and I could not figure out for the life of me why they asked those questions. There needs to be a serious restructuring of how you handle interviews at CPE because it reflects extremely poorly on your culture and candidate experience.
Not once did they mention what they salary range is either - not in the job posting or during the interview panel. What are you trying to hide? Be upfront with the salary.
