I was contacted via telephone 1 day after I submitted my application to set up an in-person interview. I arrived at the Center for Social Change for the interview and signed in. While I waited, I heard two employees sitting at the receptionist desk speaking poorly of the organization and other employees. They spoke quite loudly the whole time. From the conversation, I got a lot of information about other employees and what they do wrong. I now know the names of several employees and what they do to get on their nerves. It is so unprofessional to speak about your co-workers in the way that these two women did. Also, I heard a direct service employee yell at one of the disabled clients about not holding the door open for her, and she called him selfish. At that point I was fed up. I had been waiting for 45 minutes for the interview, and something told me to get out of there fast. I told the receptionist that I would like to respectfully decline the interview. I am sure I gave her and her co-worker something to gossip about for the rest of the day. I should have just went with the gut feeling I got from reading the glassdoor reviews on this organization.
