I recently went through the interview process with Central Market/HEB and wanted to share my experience.
The process began with some initial ambiguity, as the specific role was not clearly outlined until I asked. I first had a 30-minute conversation with HR, followed by a one-hour interview with the hiring manager. I was then invited to participate in an on-site interview that included a panel presentation.
To attend, I took 1.5 days off work and traveled, flying in the evening prior and returning late the following day for what was ultimately a one-hour interview. The team was welcoming and the interview itself was a positive experience.
After spending additional time preparing for the presentation and completing the interview process, I received an automated email indicating that the team had decided to move forward with other candidates. I followed up with HR and received confirmation of the decision, but no additional feedback was provided.
Given the time and effort involved in the process, I would have appreciated more personalized communication or feedback. As someone with a long-standing personal connection to HEB, I had high expectations for the candidate experience.
Advice to Management:
For roles requiring multiple interviews, presentations, and travel, consider providing more individualized follow-up and feedback to candidates when possible.

First you have to do a virtual interview recirding yourself answering the interview questions. From there you’ll be asked to do a group interview but that’s as far as I got.
