I think there may be bias in their interview process.I had a total of four interviews. Two with a recruiter (20 min phone interview, longer virtual), one virtual interview with hiring manager, and one virtual interview manager with the hiring manager's boss. All throughout the process, the conversations were great, I provided tangible results of my work and results, and I received positive feedback and it seemed like I clicked with the hiring team. I was told that I was one of a few candidates who had well-rounded experience (as opposed to specialized experience in say L&D), the hiring manager said he was looking forward to learning modeling and machine learning from me, but all of a sudden I was rejected before even making it to the final round. It was all so abrupt and counter to the live feedback I received. I know I'm not entitled to a job but there's absolutely no reason I shouldn't have made it to the final round if they hired truly based off of qualifications. I even asked for feedback after receiving the rejection and never got a reply which was particularly rude. They could've replied with boilerplate "there were so many great candidates" but the fact that I was ignored confirms I was rejected for unsavory reasons. I have a feeling I was only interviewed to meet a diverse slate quota.
